The Jewel Keeper
A whole treasury behind a weathered door.
FOR YOUNG EXPLORERS
Look for the little crown on a fruit. With your host, examine an opened pomegranate. Can you spot the pale walls between its chambers?Behind a tough skin, this fruit keeps a treasury of juicy seeds. Each glistening jewel carries the possibility of a new plant.
The crown is a clue left by the flower. Imagine designing a tiny palace that keeps all those seeds tucked safely inside. The Jewel Keeper has been building it through the growing season.
ROOTS & STORIES
Pomegranates have travelled with people for thousands of years, from western Asia through Mediterranean gardens. Leathery fruit protects the seeds. Established plants tolerate dry conditions, but good harvests still benefit from thoughtful watering.
Protection and generosity can grow together. Tend the conditions that let a tree give, and remember that people too need care before they can share their abundance.
GIFTS OF THE TREE
Juicy seeds burst with sweetness and tartness, offering fibre when eaten whole. Scatter them over a meal or savour them fresh. Juice brings colour and tang but much less fibre. Pomegranate molasses adds a rich sour-sweet note. The pale inner membranes taste bitter.
LOOK CLOSER
There is no single correct seed count for a pomegranate. Fruit size and variety help shape the number. Every little treasury is different.

A Guardiã Das Joias
A casca resistente protege as sementes.
O tamanho e a variedade influenciam a quantidade. Cada pequeno tesouro é diferente.
